pink ruffles and fluff

If you have followed me for a while, you will recognize this little sweetie. She appears several times throughout my site. I had the pleasure of photographing her at 10 months, 1 year and also had the privilege of capturing the festivities of her 1st birthday party earlier this year.

Mom & Dad both were so great for this session. I am pretty sure Dad got nothing less than a vigorous work out trying to get little Miss Mikaylee to look at me--or at least in my direction. All while I joined Mom in a catchy little song and dance... "If you're happy and you know it, then your face will surely show it...

This session was so fun and entertaining... and don't you just love the pink ruffles and fluff? After all, what little girl doesn't love to play dress up?!

Thank you once again for the opportunity to capture these special moments. The photos are beautiful, I will have all of your proofs ready by Friday. In the meantime, enjoy the preview.

One year of wedded bliss...

for this adorable couple who are also AMAZING parents to 5 beautiful children. They make it look so easy, I don't have a clue how they do it, but it works. I am still trying to figure out how to do it with my two!! Seriously, hands down to you guys!

(bear with me as I get sentimental but once again...)

It's quite obvious the love and energy moving between this family. This joyous occasion made for a wonderful afternoon. I had the privilege of capturing the festivities, which included; the reading of their original vows, cake cutting, first dance, and a really lovely "sand in a bottle ceremony." This was pretty neat--A different color of sand representing each member of the family was carefully layered into one bottle; while a reading describing each persons special contribution to the family was presented.

I really love this girl, who is also a long time friend (about 20 years-WOW!). I see her every Tuesday and Thursday at Preschool drop-off and pick-up. Every morning without fail, she is so full of energy and I look forward to her smile, she truly brightens my day! Before Preschool it had been a while since we had regular contact and I am so thankful to have her back and a part of my weekly routine!

Thanks also be to our long-time-mutual-friend Jennifer, who sadly resides in Texas now. Much too far in our opinion. Alas, it was Jennifer who presented Jennie with this special session and generous portrait package as a wedding gift! Like I said, good friends are like Gold! Congratulations Job and Jennie!

The photos are fantastic, enjoy the preview!

Meet the Jones Family...

Ok, so not really, but if you look real close you should be able to spot a Jones Soda or two! A crazy last minute idea I had that made this afternoon session just a bit more enjoyable in 95 degree weather :)

I sat down to write this blog post, and got to thinking... aren't good ol' friends so great!? Ok, so I really mean old friendships, they are truly golden! I have known this girl for about 20 years now, I can hardly believe it sometimes. Oh, how time flies. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding not too long ago, we've had some good times and priceless memories.

Meet Gina and her adorable family. I truly love this girl and I am beyond thrilled to see her so genuinely happy!

We had a blast on Sunday hopping all over town, thanks guys for a wonderful afternoon. The photos are awesome--I can't wait for you to see them all! I will have your gallery completed by Wednesday. In the meantime enjoy this preview, a teaser if you will!!

Hip-Hip-Hooray!

...for great locations, perfect lighting and beautiful subjects!! AND great parents who willingly go along with all the crazy, sometimes over-the-top ideas of mine. Being a parent myself, it's a bit humorous when you actually stop and think about all the silly sounds and funny faces you'll make... all the lengths you go to in order to get your child's attention focused on the camera. It's all in good fun, wouldn't you say? The captured smile is completely worth it in the end--Thank you guys, Hayden is a doll, so curious and playful! You are going to LOVE the photos!!

Just about all of these shots were taken in something close to a 40' radius!! I really LOVED this quaint downtown and can't wait to return. These are a few of my favorite images from our session...

enjoy!
